Half of US doctors rethinking their career, reveals survey

The poll of more than 1000 doctors reveals the pandemic has left many looking at quitting, retiring or leaving patient care

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to hit the US, almost half of doctors are rethinking their medical careers, according to a survey. 

The poll of 1251 doctors undertaken in July and September reveals many are considering retiring, shortening their hours, moving more to telehealth or switching careers altogether in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
