Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has angered UK health authorities after suggesting kombucha and products she sells on her website, including an ‘infrared sauna’, are curing her long-COVID.

NHS medical director Professor Stephen Powis called on Ms Paltrow, who runs the ‘wellness’ store Goop, to stop spreading COVID-19 misinformation on social media.

Ms Paltrow, who calls herself ‘GP’, shared on her blog she had turned to a ‘functional medicine practitioner’ to treat the fatigue and “brain fog” she has experienced since developing COVID-19 early in the pandemic.

Will Cole, a naturopath and chiropractor, recommended she follow his intuitive fasting technique which included “lots of coconut aminos”, sugar-free kombucha and kimchi.
