Produced by the insurers’ lobby group, Private Healthcare Australia, it says half of all claims for hospital care in 2024 were ‘high-cost’ claims, which it defined as more than $10,000.
It goes on to list individual cases:
Dr Rachel David, CEO of Private Healthcare Australia, claimed the payouts by health funds were taking “enormous pressure” off the public health system.
