A new report has listed the high-cost claims being paid by health insurers, including a $700,000 bill for a single hospital stay.

Produced by the insurers’ lobby group, Private Healthcare Australia, it says half of all claims for hospital care in 2024 were ‘high-cost’ claims, which it defined as more than $10,000.

It goes on to list individual cases:
