‘Heavy punishment’: Lawyer says lengthy court delay has effectively ended Dr Jereth Kok’s career

The five years of delays in setting a court date for Dr Jereth Kok, the GP accused of calling for genocide of racial and religious groups, has effectively ended his medical career, his lawyer says.
Dr Kok has been suspended under emergency powers since 2019 after the Medical Board of Australia held an emergency hearing based on anonymous complaints about a series of social posts he made.
The board has alleged the posts — which have not been made public — were “denigrating, demeaning and slurring” to doctors.
They also include posts which allegedly disparage doctors who provide abortions or those who do not believe that being transgender is a mental health condition.
