Heidi launches AI ‘agents’ to take on clinical admin tasks
Australian AI healthcare company Heidi has launched AI ‘agents’ that it says can handle clinical administrative tasks, including preparing referrals and identifying patients due for bloods tests.
The company announced the new features under the name Heidi II last month — one week after it reached unicorn status with a $1.26 billion valuation, following a successful funding round.
Under the update, doctors can ask the AI tool to complete certain tasks and it will create an agent that plans and executes the work, before returning it for approval.
Heidi co-founder and CEO Dr Tom Kelly stressed that anything impacting patient care would have this approval step, as well as any action involving writing or deleting clinical information.
