Help bring Chris home: Colleagues launch fundraiser for leading GP

The medical community is rallying together to help a leading GP make the transition from hospital to home, after he almost drowned in a surfing incident earlier this year.
Professor Chris Del Mar was surfing before work in February when he was pulled from the water face down on the Gold Coast.
Paramedics were called to Miami Beach at around 5.40am, where Professor Del Mar was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in critical condition with a spinal cord injury, which included breaking the C1 and C2 vertebrae.
The high-profile Queensland GP is a professor of public health at Bond University and an internationally recognised expert on respiratory viruses and evidence-based medicine.
