Heroic GP rescues vax fridge from fire: UK

A UK GP has been hailed as “amazing” for returning to a burning community centre to retrieve the vaccination fridge containing COVID-19 vaccine doses.
Dr Richard Strickland, 49, went back into the Emerbrook Community Centre in Thames Ditton in Surrey to secure the fridge and its precious contents as smoke and flames billowed from the roof.
Staff and volunteers had been administering the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine at the centre when the fire broke out.
Dr Strickland and one of the fire crew returned to the building, and can be seen in photos, wheeling out the vaccine fridge on a trolley.
