Hole in AMA WA accounts now sitting at $3 million, annual report reveals

AMA WA recorded a $3.2 million deficit in its accounts at the end of last year, although the organisation says it’s over the worse and on “the road to recovery”.
The holes in the state organisation’s finances came under the spotlight back in February after its 5000 members were booted out of the Federal AMA following a refusal to hand over a million dollars in subscription fees to help fund its operations in Canberra.
AMA WA had already lost around $7 million over the previous two years, mainly linked to its commercial activities, which AMA WA said were necessary because of the subscription fee contributions were excessive.
AMA WA’s latest annual report shows its deficit has reduced to $3.2 million from $4.9 million in 2022.
