When Dr Alison Jones had her third child, she became so frustrated with the lack of childcare facilities in her rural town that she decided to set up a daycare centre herself.

Until that point, she and her partner, farmer Charlie Norton, had leaned heavily on family to help look after their three boys, now aged five, three and one, so she could work as a GP five days a fortnight in Walcha in NSW.
