How this doctor juggles emergency medicine and writing novels: ‘Pure pig-headedness’
The same stubbornness that has helped Dr Michelle Johnston in medicine has also been handy in dealing with the rejections, setbacks and hard knocks of fiction writing.
The author of three novels has worked as an emergency doctor at Royal Perth Hospital’s trauma centre ED for 25 years.
“With writing, there was a lot of rejection, a lot of false starts, a lot of throwing things out,” she tells 6minutes.
