How this doctor quit medicine to make $140,000 a year playing online games
Dr Michael Pomroy has no regrets that he jumped ship from medicine to creating content for YouTube.
When Dr Michael Pomroy first ventured into the world of an online game called Space Engineers he was attempting to de-stress from his shifts in ICU.
But it ended up changing his life.
Ten years later he left medicine to earn a living, streaming himself building virtual intergalactic spacecraft and creating Youtube videos viewed by millions.
“I started playing Space Engineers in between shifts on ICU and was like, ‘Oh, this looks like it could be a lot of fun’,” Dr Pomroy tells 6minutes.
