Hundreds of specialists ditching their college memberships for independent CPD Homes

AMA WA says that more than a thousand specialists have signed up to its CPD Home.

Specialists are ditching college membership after signing up with independent CPD Homes, says AMA WA.

Last month, the Medical Board of Australia issued a reminder to the profession that to remain on the medical register, all doctors will have to have a so-called CPD Home.

These homes are meant to be organisations that provide CPD programs that are relevant to the doctor’s scope of practice.

They are also tasked with tracking that doctors have done sufficient CPD hours in line with their registration status as a general or specialist doctor.
