‘Hung, drawn and quartered’: Has the HCCC become a Kangaroo court?

The NSW watchdog made up its mind without even wanting to hear from the accused, says Dr Craig Lilienthal

All doctors should be appalled at the unjust way Dr Simon Holliday has been treated.

As you will have no doubt read, he was the target of a single anonymous complaint filed with NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC).

The mysterious individual making the notification had been outraged by innocuous comments Dr Holliday had made to his local newspaper, the Manning River Times.

In the article, he had warned about the dangers of misinformation around the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines, made reference to some “extremists” in the Liberal and National parties circulating such misinformation and offered the sensible suggestion that we should not let people who are foolish and say bizarre things to “indirectly cause illness in our community”.
