‘I am financially, physically, mentally broken’: Dermatologist’s plea for help after floods
Dermatologist Dr Ken Gudmundsen has been battling to save his practice, wiped out in the NSW floods earlier this year.
Floodwaters destroyed most of his dermatology equipment, along with computers, furniture and practice rooms which were all uninsured.
Like many other doctors ravaged by the disaster, he has since used up his savings and taken out a loan to keep operating, but doubts he can keep going with the minimal government assistance on offer.
Back in September, Dr Gudmundsen wrote in desperation to his colleagues with the Australasian College of Dermatologists outlining his plight, and appealing for financial assistance.
