‘I was ashamed and thought people would think less of me’: GP on his ADHD diagnosis

GP Dr Chris Soo was first diagnosed with ADHD at 17, yet spent years making his peace with it.
“I was diagnosed on the same day as my siblings, almost as an afterthought,” he says.
“I recall they were struggling with school, but I wasn’t. It was almost like a surprise for me.”
He sailed through year 12. However, when he started studying physiotherapy and health science at university, he found he had no motivation to do anything.
