Dr Justin Hunter explains how his confronting experiences in Iraq led him into GP training

Dr Justin Hunter always wanted to be a soldier.
He grew up in a military family and spent most of his teenage years in the army cadets. He eventually joined up as a rifleman.
“It was in my blood,” he says.
But Dr Hunter, a Wiradjuri man, discovered another passion which eventually put him on the path to medicine.
