I’m a pharmacist — let me explain why 60-day dispensing will wipe pharmacies out

As a pharmacist, it seems to me the federal budget took significant steps towards addressing issues with Medicare, although I admit I am not qualified to pass definitive judgement.

It was also heartening to see the government recognise the contributions of aged care workers, to the tune of $11.3 billion.

These positive decisions, however, make the treatment meted out to the pharmacy sector even more galling.  

The government is defunding pharmacy to the tune of $2.8 billion on its initial estimate, which it recently revised to $3.5 billion.
