‘I’m treading water’: GP to close well-known clinic to avoid financial loss

The founder of a well-known Canberra general practice originally set up to treat HIV patients says she has tried everything to remain open, but the erosion of Medicare has beaten her. 

Dr Clara Tuck Meng Soo told patients this week that the Hobart Place General Practice would close as it was “financially unviable” due to the falling value of Medicare rebates, and several doctors retiring or leaving.
