‘Infuriating and dangerous’: Psychiatrist tries and fails to speak with his patients’ medicinal cannabis prescribers

Medicinal cannabis prescribers are failing to acknowledge concerned correspondence from patients’ regular doctors, a leading psychiatrist says.

Professor Richard Harvey has routinely written to the doctors prescribing cannabis to his vulnerable patients but has never heard back.

“That is even when I have pointed out that this is a patient who has a history of psychosis, and I have requested they do not prescribe without discussing it with me’,” he told AusDoc.

“It is infuriating and dangerous.
