Is a 52-hour work week normal in your specialty? Find out here
How long does your specialty spend on the clock in a week?
A new online calculator, developed by The Sydney Morning Herald, shows the average hours for different professions, including various medical specialties, based on the August 2021 Census.
Based on 32,000 GPs, their average was 45 hours worked in the week before the Census.
That average included 14,500 part-time GPs, which the Census counted as those working fewer than 35 hours in a week. More than 11% of GPs reported work weeks reaching 60 hours or more.
