Is the AMA facing civil war? States respond to membership fee fight
AMA WA was expelled from the federal family last week for not handing over $1 million in membership fees.
Last Thursday, at around 8pm, the federal AMA sent an email telling WA members they were no longer part of the national organisation.
These doctors immediately lost access to federal representation in Canberra and their ability to join federal committees, along with their logins to the AMA Fees List and the Medical Journal of Australia.
