This week, AusDoc was sent copies of documents being used to persuade 100 members to back an EGM, where college members could vote on prematurely terminating Professor Jennifer Martin’s tenure.
Under the college constitution, if 100 members back a request for an EGM, the college is duty-bound to hold it.
There has been a series of these meetings over the past six months — to remove directors, including two goes at removing the president-elect Dr Sharmila Chandran, as well as changes to the college constitution. None were successful, and the estimated cost has been close to $500,000.
