Is watching ‘The Pitt’ worth CPD hours? This doctor thinks so

US plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn says each episode should be worth an hour of CPD credit.

The Pitt has been praised for its medical accuracy, but could watching its fictional doctors perform procedures be recognised as medical education?

US plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn thinks so, saying he learns more from viewing an episode of The Pitt than some of the medical education courses he undertakes.

He took to social media to encourage the American Medical Association and American Nurses Association to recognise the medical drama as CPD.

“I recently recertified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and every time I watch The Pitt, I’m going through my ACLS protocols,” the Detroit surgeon told his 1.6 million Instagram followers.
