‘It’s heartbreaking’: Aussie doctors do their best to help patients in India

Sydney cardiologist Dr Yadu Singh is using WhatsApp to send clinical advice and requests to his former classmates in pandemic-struck India.
After receiving reports from family, friends and even strangers in the country, Dr Singh has contacted his medical connections in India to help facilitate much needed medical care, even sending the results of a chest CT scan over the app.
He’s also taken phone calls in the early hours from relatives desperate for clinical guidance, held Zoom meetings and responded to pleas for help over Twitter.
During the past two to three weeks, he’s done what he can to source hospital beds, oxygen cylinders and offer relevant advice from another continent.
