Do medical groups waste time attacking the Pharmacy Guild of Australia when they should be advancing the interests of doctors?

It is certainly the view of the guild’s national executive director, Gerard Benedet, a former Coalition staffer and inaugural director of the conservative lobby group Advance.

The guild, one of Australia’s top political donors, likes to prosecute the argument that grassroots doctors welcome the spread of pharmacist prescribing and that groups like the RACGP and the AMA are grossly out of touch.
