For some three-and-a-half years, the college had failed to assess specialist IMGs wanting to work in Australia in line with the Medical board of Australia's public standards.

Last month, we were sent a joint media release from the Medical Board of Australia and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

In terms of content, it was almost avant-garde in the way it explored the complex interplay between meaning and reality.

The surface narrative was a simple one. It was a confession.
