Journal refuses retraction after homeopath admits to ‘meddling’ in her own research

The editors said the actions of researcher Dr Clare Relton did not affect the final results

A journal has refused to retract a paper that concluded homeopathic medicine can help patients with chronic fatigue syndrome, despite an investigator attempting to meddle with the study protocols by administering her own homeopathic treatments on the side.

Dr Clare Relton (PhD) was filmed at a UK conference for homeopaths describing how she had apparently managed to successfully identify the participants in the placebo arm of the trial based on the fact they had reported no change in symptoms at their second appointment.
