Junior docs to rate consultants in first national survey

Revealing the strengths and weaknesses of training will be used to create 'future improvements'

All junior doctors will have the chance to air grievances over long hours, grumpy supervisors and poorly behaved consultants in the first national survey rating their experiences with training.

More than 30,000 doctors in training around Australia will be asked about the quality of their training, as well as supervision, culture and unacceptable behaviours.

Funded by the Medical Board of Australia and AHPRA, the Medical Training Survey runs from 1 August to the end of September and is designed to improve training in the future.

Medical Board chair Dr Anne Tonkin says the goal is for all doctors in training to take part in order to get a clear picture of what is going well and what can be improved.
