Labor promises vote on voluntary assisted dying in Qld

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has promised to introduce legislation on voluntary assisted dying if Labor is re-elected in the upcoming state poll.
Ms Palaszczuk pledged to allow a conscience vote on voluntary assisted dying legislation in February if her party wins at the 31 October election.
She announced her commitment to legalise voluntary assisted dying at the campaign launch on Sunday, after draft legislation was deferred in May.
“I believe individuals and families should be empowered to consider all the options available in consultation with their medical professionals,” Ms Palaszczuk told the campaign launch at Beenleigh in Brisbane.
