A successor to the BEACH study has finally surfaced.

The famous study of what actually happens in GP consulting rooms lost its funding a decade ago, even though researchers continued to rely on its data, maintained by the University of Sydney.

Finally, new funding to study what GPs do in consultations has come from the RACGP’s Australian General Practice Research Foundation, while the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is funding for research into what practice nurses, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers do in primary health settings.
