Leading GP calls on doctors to promote home cleaning

Doctors in the UK have called for better promotion of simple cleaning measures, such as ventilating rooms and using disinfectant at home, to help limit the spread of coronavirus.
Evidence suggests that viral load is likely to be important for the severity of the infection, writes academic GP, Professor Paul Little, of the University of Southampton, and colleagues.
While most public health messaging has been aimed at reducing transmission of COVID-19 between households, less attention has been given to transmission between family members, they write.
“Greater awareness of the potential risk from viral load may help motivate family members to pay sufficient attention to protecting themselves despite their concern for sick family members,” they say in the BMJ.
