Fewer than a quarter of GP practices now offering universal bulk-billing, says report

Some 514 clinics have ditched universal bulk-billing, according to a data analyst survey.

Fewer than one in four GP clinics are now offering universal bulk-billing, a fall of 11% over the previous 12 months, a new report claims.

Data analyst company Cleanbill contacted 6091 practices across Australia to find out what proportion were bulk-billing all patients, and when not bulk-billing, the typical co-payment they were charging for a standard consult.
