‘Let me back in’: Dr William Bay launches Supreme Court fight to overturn his suspension

Dr William Bay, who led a chant of ‘kick me out’ while standing outside the AHPRA office in Brisbane, is appealing to the Supreme Court of Queensland to practise as a doctor again.
The Medical Board of Australia suspended the former GP registrar under emergency powers after his tirade about the dangers of COVID-19 vaccines during the AMA’s National Conference this year.
He was given a chance to defend himself at a virtual hearing in August but was shut out after trying to “converse” with board chair Dr Anne Tonkin through a megaphone aimed at his phone while standing outside AHPRA’s office.
The board later said in a letter to Dr Bay that it “understood you to indicate that you were not prepared to cease the live stream before leading protestors in a chant of ‘kick me out’”.
