Low vitamin D may present as nasal condition
Recurrent allergic nasal conditions that lead to symptoms such as anosmia might be a sign of vitamin D deficiency, a case report suggests.
It details the “non-classical” presentation of a 26-year-old woman to an ENT department in Sudan.
She had a history of anosmia, surgery for recurrent nasal polyps, hypersensitivity to nasal irritants, back pain and chronic fatigue.
Her doctors said she had no psychiatric illness, was not taking medication, exercised regularly, and appeared healthy and well, with all her imaging results
