The private equity firm behind the National Home Doctor Service was one of the biggest political donors linked to healthcare over the past two years, public donations data show.

Crescent Capital, which has a controlling stake in the deputising giant, donated more than $160,000 during a period when the boom in the after-hours industry was facing the prospect of federal government funding cuts.
