Major GP chain says doctors’ consult notes may have been stolen from 16 practices

Consultation notes, pathology results and referral letters at 16 GP practices may have been hacked, Partnered Health has told patients.
The GP corporate, which owns 57 clinics, says it became aware three weeks ago that a “malicious actor” had accessed personal information, including clinical notes, contact details, Medicare numbers and private health insurance details.
In its first public statement on Wednesday, it said it had identified 16 clinics from which patient information may have been taken, including clinics in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.
It was still investigating five more clinics, while the rest appeared to be unaffected, it said.
