Man charged with stabbing his GP dies before committal hearing
Wen Liang Zhang, 57, had been facing one charge of wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The man arrested and charged after a GP was stabbed during an evening consultation has died while on remand, a court has been told.
Wen Liang Zhang, 57, was arrested at the GP practice on Pitt Street in the centre of Sydney at around 7pm on 26 September.
Emergency services had been called in response to an assault and found an 85-year-old GP with serious injuries, including a stab wound to the neck, NSW Police said at the time.
The GP was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
