The RACGP is warning about the risks of imposing mandatory health checks on older doctors, with figures showing that nearly one in 10 of Australia’s GPs are now aged 70 or over.

New AHPRA data show that, as of June last year, some 3142 (8.8%) of the 35,514 GPs were aged 70-plus compared with 5.9% across the medical profession as a whole.
