Many junior doctors fear claiming all their overtime: AMA survey
Four out of 10 junior doctors do not submit claims for all their unrostered overtime hours for fear it will impact their future work prospects, an AMA Queensland survey has found.
AMA Queensland surveyed more than 700 junior doctors as part of its annual Resident Hospital Health Check.
In addition, one in 10 junior doctors working in Queensland hospital say they have not been paid for the overtime hours they are clocking up and for which they have submitted claims.
Back in August, junior doctors won a class action when the Federal Court of Australia found that Peninsula Health in Victoria had contravened the Fair Work Act in the treatment of Dr Gaby Bolton.
