Pathology giant Healius is putting patients at risk by not uploading results to My Health Record, Minister for Health and Aged Care Mark Butler claims.

He accused Healius of stopping the uploads on 12 September, adding that three million fewer pathology reports were uploaded to My Health Record in September compared with August.

Pathology companies are not currently required to upload reports to My Health Record, although the Federal Government plans to make it mandatory by December 2024.

But Mr Butler said health officials had written to the company urging it to reconsider its decision, with no response.
