Masks now mandatory in all South Australian general practices

GPs and their patients will have to wear face masks during consultations under emergency orders in South Australia that came into force on Tuesday.
It is the first time health officials have demanded the use of masks in GP clinics outside of Victoria’s community-wide mask mandate.
The maximum penalty for breaching the new rules can be up to $20,000 for individuals and $75,000 for businesses.
The state government has not said whether it will foot the bill for the masks, but AMA SA president Dr Chis Moy says the on-going costs on practices is an issue.
