MBS Review: Push for GPs to jump through rebates hoop for imaging

The task force wants doctors to use decision-support software to curb over-testing

This story has been updated. The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists would like to note that the decision support app cited in the MBS Review Taskforce report – an app called Imaging CDRs – was designed as an educational tool to support junior doctors. 

GPs will be forced to use decision-support software before ordering MBS-funded imaging under the latest proposal from the MBS Review Taskforce to curb over-testing.
