MDO warns doctors to ‘carefully consider’ statements on Israel-Gaza war

A medical defence organisation is warning doctors to ‘carefully consider’ public comment on the Israel-Gaza war, including posters in practices, because of the risk they will be reported to AHPRA.
Avant said several doctors had asked for advice related to social media posting since the Hamas atrocities on 7 October.
Last month the Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA) president lodged an AHPRA complaint about a Melbourne GP’s Facebook posts, alleging that she had downplayed the attack on Israel.
In the complaint to AHPRA, the federation president Jeremy Leibler accused the doctor of denying that Hamas “decapitated Israeli children” in the attack which killed at least 1400 people.
