Medical board chair explains its new code of conduct

The Medical Board of Australia has released its new version of its code of conduct for doctors.

It comes into effect on 1 October and includes clauses on reporting workplace bullying, discrimination and sexual harassment (see box below).

There are also clearer guidelines for doctors when public comments and using social media.

Australian Doctor spoke with the board’s chair Dr Anne Tonkin to learn more about what the changes mean.
