Medical board chair responds to mass doctor unrest over the CPD regime

One doctor has described the Medical Board of Australia’s CPD regime, introduced last year in an attempt to enhance doctors’ lifelong learning, as a ‘soul-destroying, form-filling, foolish endeavour’.
That view seems to be shared by many — at least among those 890 doctors who took part in the AusDoc survey last month.
Few believed it had value in their professional development and more than 80% said it should be scrapped.
What is the board’s response? Will there be change? Does it believe the system is failing doctors in its declared purpose?
