The Medical Board of Australia will warn doctors not to prescribe to new patients based on online questionnaires or emails alone, forging ahead with new guidelines despite pushback from telehealth corporates.

The board received more than 750 submissions on the changes over a two-month consultation period, although it said at least 650 were from patients of just two corporates: InstantScripts and Medmate.
