Medical board raises rego fees by 4.2%
The increase is slightly above the overall annual CPI.
Doctors will have to pay $1102 for their Medical Board of Australia registration this year, a $44 increase from last year’s renewal fee.
The 4.2% increase is just above overall annual CPI, which rose 3.8% from June 2025 to June 2026.
Doctors who primarily practise in NSW will only have to pay $925 under their co-regulatory system.
Registration fees for most doctors first cracked the four-figure mark in 2024, causing then AMA president Professor Steve Robson to call them “extortionate”.
