Medicare item for HPV self-collection gets green light

GPs will be able to offer self-swabbing to anyone eligible for the cervical screening program if govt accepts the recommendation

All women should be able to take their own vaginal swab for HPV testing under the cervical cancer screening program, the Medical Services Advisory Committee has agreed.
