Medicare’s GP telehealth items extended until 2022
Minister for Health Greg Hunt says the items are remaining in place while he hammers out a permanent funding system for telehealth
Update: This story has been changed. Australian Doctor has been told some of the phone items for longer consults will be deleted. We are currently seeking more details from the Federal Department of Health.
The main telehealth items will remain in place until the end of December while the Federal Government continues to figure out a permanent funding system for remote care.
