Meet Annabel Wood: The nurse who helped start the first dedicated union for primary care nurses
In a new series from AusDoc, we are chatting to primary care nurses from across Australia.
Working in general practice during COVID-19 made Annabel Wood realise that nurses in primary care were being left behind and needed a dedicated union branch to advocate for their needs.
After years of paperwork and negotiation, she now serves as the inaugural president of the new ANMF NSW Primary Health Care Branch and has worked in a number of Sydney general practices.
Here, she reflects on what being a primary care nurse means to her.
